We will never ask for your PIN or your card's unlock code. Never send them to anyone.
The basics
Your ChimpDAO card holds your private key, and the key never leaves the card. The app shows what you are about to sign; you enter the PIN and hold the card against the top of your iPhone to sign. Network fees are paid by ChimpDAO. The app runs on the Stellar testnet: balances are test tokens with no monetary value.

The app doesn't read my card
Hold the card flat against the top of the back of your iPhone, and keep it still until the app says it's done. Take off phone cases with metal or magnets. Use one card at a time.
Where do I get a card?
ChimpDAO cards are handed out at ChimpDAO events. A card has to be prepared by ChimpDAO before it can be used: the app refuses other cards.
I typed a wrong PIN
The app tells you how many tries are left. The third wrong PIN blocks the card. If you are not sure of your PIN, stop before the last try and write to us.
I forgot my PIN, or my card is blocked
When you set or change a PIN, the card shows an unlock code (also called a PUK) once. That code is what can unlock the card if the PIN is forgotten or the card is blocked. ChimpDAO never sees it and cannot show it again.
The app cannot use the unlock code yet. Write to us with your card's name and number as shown in the app.
Where should I keep the unlock code?
Write it down and keep it somewhere safe, away from the card. Changing the PIN gives a new unlock code, and the old one stops working.
I lost a card
If your account has another card, open the lost card in the app and use "I lost this card" to remove it from your account, with your other card. The money on the lost card's own wallet stays with that card and cannot be recovered. If the lost card was your only card, write to us.
Someone sent money from the wrong network
The app only works on the Stellar testnet. Money sent to a ChimpDAO address from the main Stellar network, or from another blockchain, does not arrive in the app and is lost. Test tokens cannot be moved to the main Stellar network either.
Where does the test money come from?
Test tokens are free and have no value. ChimpDAO prepares each card with test XLM before handing it out. To add more, send test XLM to your card from a Stellar wallet set to testnet, on the Fund your card page.
A payment says "Not sent yet" or "Not sure yet"
Your card's signature can still be used for a short time. Use "Try again" or "Check again" in the app: it never sends the same payment twice.
How do I remove my data from my iPhone?
Settings → "Erase everything on this phone". Your money stays on the blockchain, with your cards; tap one of them to open your account again. See the privacy policy.
Is there an Android app?
ChimpDAO is iPhone only for now.
