Terms of use

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the ChimpDAO iOS app, version 2.0.0 and later (the "app"), and to the website chimpdao.xyz. The app is published by Consulting Manao GmbH ("we", "us"), registered in the Austrian company register under FN 571029z. By using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. Apple's standard licence terms for App Store apps also apply.

2. Who can use the app

You must be 18 or older to use the app.

3. What the app does

ChimpDAO is a wallet for the Stellar network in which a physical NFC card is the wallet. The card's chip creates and keeps the private key, which never leaves the card. The app reads the card's public key, shows balances, prepares each operation and shows what will be signed. Nothing moves until you tap the card, and enter its PIN if it has one.

4. Stellar testnet: test money only

• The app runs on the Stellar testnet, the public test network operated by the Stellar Development Foundation.
• Balances are test tokens. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Nothing in the app can reach the main Stellar network or buy, sell or move real money.
• Amounts may be shown in your currency at the market price of the corresponding real asset. This is a display convention only: it does not give the test tokens any value.
• Money sent to a ChimpDAO address from the main Stellar network or from another blockchain is lost.

5. A non-custodial wallet

Only the holder of the card controls the funds. Neither we nor anyone else can move, freeze, reverse or recover your funds, and we never hold them. Your account is a smart contract on the Stellar network that obeys your cards only.

A card's wallet keeps the code it was created with. If you choose, with your card's signature, to follow a shared code version that ChimpDAO updates, you can leave it the same way; see Code updates.

6. Your card, your PIN and your unlock code

• You are responsible for your card, its PIN and its unlock code. Keep the unlock code away from the card.
• If you lose a card, the money on that card's own wallet is lost with it. Anyone who has the card and its PIN can spend that money. If your account has another card, use it to remove the lost one.
• Three wrong PINs block the card. The unlock code is shown only once, when the PIN is set or changed.
• We cannot recover a PIN, an unlock code, a lost card or the money on it.
• We will never ask for your PIN or your unlock code.

7. Transactions and fees

Before you tap your card, the app shows the amount, the destination and the action. Once submitted and confirmed by the network, a transaction cannot be cancelled or reversed. Check the destination before signing. Network fees are currently paid by ChimpDAO through its fee server; you pay no fee to us.

8. Third-party protocols

The app lets you use protocols that we do not operate or control: Soroswap and Aquarius (swaps), and DeFindex, Blend, XOXNO and Etherfuse (savings). Optional transfers from other networks use NEAR Intents and ROZO. Each is run by its own team, under its own terms.

Using them carries risks, even on the testnet, including:

• errors or vulnerabilities in their smart contracts;
• prices that move between the quote and the execution, and pools without enough liquidity;
• a protocol, a pool or an asset being paused, frozen, restricted or discontinued by its operator or issuer;
• wrong prices from an oracle or an external price source;
• test networks and test deployments being reset, with positions or balances lost.

We do not guarantee the availability, results or behaviour of any third-party protocol, and we may add or remove integrations at any time.

9. No financial advice

Nothing in the app, on this website or in our communications is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Prices, savings and swap quotes are shown for information only. You decide alone what you do with your wallet.

10. Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully. Do not try to disrupt the app, the fee server or the networks it uses, to use the fee server for anything other than the app's own transactions, or to access systems you are not allowed to access.

11. Availability and changes to the app

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or stop the app, the fee server or any feature, including fee sponsorship, at any time. The Stellar testnet and third-party test services may be reset or become unavailable without notice.

12. Intellectual property

The ChimpDAO name, logo and Chimpy artwork remain the property of their owners. These terms do not grant you any right to them beyond using the app.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of the app, of the testnet or of third-party protocols, in particular the loss of a card, a PIN or an unlock code, a transaction you signed, or the behaviour of a third-party protocol. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
